Grandmother isn't a Bible thumping hallelujah religious fanatic either. She is more a love your neighbor, bake a pie, pray for the sick, thank the Lord, Sunday morning worshipper.
Grandmother has given her family and all those who know her many gifts. I'm certain our recollections and memories of those gifts are as varied as we are. My gifts are a collection of emotions, patience, knowledge, love, stability, honor, grace, compassion, loyalty, peace and faith that Grandmother lived by every day. But now after 44 years of my living I've realized that there is one more gift she gave me, the gift of choice. We are not the ones in control and the sooner we choose God the sooner we live in abundance. Grandmother has lived a very rich and rewarding life and I believe its because of the fact she made the choice to follow God.Grandmother didn't abandon Grandfather , the children or the farm when times were hard. She accepted her role with honor and grace as Wife, Mother and child of God knowing that she would live in abundance. I believe we are all a little bit of everyone that has been in our life. I'm thankful Grandmother was one of those people in my life and I accept the collection of gifts she has given to me. I also know that in time, I will recognize the fact that the collection will grow, now that I may live to celebrate my 100th birthday
Make the choice to live in abundance!
